Project YZ has been Sold

By

Yes it’s true that the bike has been sold. It is now on it’s way to Madrid Spain to it’s new home.

Even though the bike is gone, this site will remain up as a resource. In fact it may even be updated with news about your projects! Please feel free to send news and information about your YZ125 project bikes or to add to whatever is already here.

Congratulations John. Hope that YZ get a good home. It`s I think the only european yellow, (american version) restorated version: And certainly the BEST!!! I think that John had two or more tears when he have builted it for shipping! If the new owner see this: ” keep us YZ-guys In touch” on Bikepicks, or Mail.

John,
Your bile looks fantastic! I have just started restoring a 1979 YZ125F. It looks a lot like the 125G, except the drive chain and exhaust are on the left side.

I spent most of yesterday trying to free the (badly rusted)swing arm pivot bolt. I had to disassemble my press, than reassemble it with the bike frame inside. But my efforts were rewarded with a BANG as the bolt finally broke loose. Needless to say the bearings were shot, and fell out in pieces when I pulled out the pivot bolt.

Of course that was the last part to be taken off the frame, now I can start the restoration phase! Very excited.
